BLOND:ISH is the artist name of Vivie‑Ann Bakos (born 1981, Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada). She began her career in 2007 during the Winter Music Conference in Montreal and rose to prominence in 2008 with a residency at Cherry Nightclub. In 2010, she moved to London to focus on music production, releasing on prominent labels like Kompakt, Get Physical Music, and Insomniac Records. After her duo split in 2019, Vivie‑Ann continued solo under BLOND:ISH. Her debut album, Welcome to the Present (2015, Kompakt), and singles like “Waves” and “Call My Name” earned Juno Award nominations (2022–2024) . A dedicated environment activist, she co-founded the Bye Bye Plastic Foundation in 2020 with the goal of eliminating single-use plastics at music events by 2025. She also launched the ABRACADABRA brand and label in 2017, hosting showcases at festivals like Tomorrowland and running a Twitch channel under ABRACADABRA TV .
