Mysterious D

Dimitry van der Plas, aka Mysterious D, is a true music enthusiast with a great passion for radio. In the 1980s, he grew up with his parents’ music, with the radio always on. Later, he began developing his own taste and became a big fan of house and dance music, which was still evolving in the late ’80s and early ’90s. He was constantly glued to the radio, recording his favorite shows onto cassette tapes so he could listen to his favorite music and mix shows on his way to school. His pocket money went into buying the latest dance compilations, and later he spent much of his salary on CDs and vinyl records.

In recent years, he has been actively creating mixes, something that fascinated him as a child when he first heard the Turn up the Bass mixes in the early ’90s. The mixes Dimitry has produced in recent years have been well received by various stations, and now he can also be heard on Hot Dance Radio. He alternates with Maurice Franken, aka The Morrisman, during Weekend Beats on Fridays from 18:00 to 20:00 on Hot Dance Ibiza, and during Beat Buffet on Hot Dance NL every weekday from 12:30 to 13:00, playing the hottest new dance tracks as well as the true classics.
